Maintaining a good oral hygiene such as brushing, flossing and using mouthwash can give you healthy teeth and gums and an effective prevention from dental risks and conditions. Along with proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, you are well on your way of avoiding gum disease and other health complications.

There are many things that you can do to help aid you in your oral health. Now studies have shown that drinking black tea can be a great benefit for your teeth and gums. Compounds found in black tea are proven to be effective in fighting bacteria in the mouth that cause gum and tooth diseases. These compounds are found to be able to stop the growth and acid production of the cavity-producing bacteria in the mouth. Black tea also contains fluoride necessary in protecting the teeth. Options such as white tea can be a better help in promoting oral health, but they are costly than black tea. One thing to note, however, is that too much consumption of tea can cause erosion in the enamel of the teeth because it also is acidic in nature. Nevertheless, a healthy cup bot black tea is enough to help you increase oral health.
