For a person with fibromyalgia, searching for gas scooter parts is an ordeal
August 31st, 2007
Recently, my friend who has fibromyalgia had to replace gas scooter parts when hers broke down. Most of us cannot even imagine the need for a scooter, let alone being without it when you do need it. We thought it would not be difficult to find the parts, but after several days of phone calls and searching the Internet, we finally had to resort to the old-fashioned yellow pages for help. We did find several listings for businesses that provided the parts, but, as we were both new in town, locating those businesess became quite a task. And the ones we did find didn’t have the parts she needed. By the time we reached the fourth shop, my friend was in agony. I have spent a fair amount of time with her since her illness, but this experience really showed me a different side to her life. I am only thankful that she had someone to help her with at least a bit of the effort that was required to find the parts and get them replaced.
